depo8 is a privately owned coworking space in the heart of the busy and vibrant Chapel Street precinct of Melbourne. depo8 was one of the first coworking spaces in Australia.
For six years Jodie and Erz have been very active in the startup ecosystem contributing to various initiatives from Startup Grind, Melbourne City Sustainabilty panel discussions, Unispace Future Of Work, Innovation Bay, University of Sydney Coworking Spaces Australia report, to name a few.
The founders, husband and wife team Jodie and Erz Imam, have a passion for building new business and have a proven track record across a broad range of industries from fashion, telecommunications, startups to collaborations on a broad range of other projects.
Jodie is immersed in the Melbourne startup ecosystem. After setting up Innovation Bay Melbourne, connecting angel investors with scalable startups she joined the Wade Institute at the University of Melbourne. Jodie is a mentor and co-leader of the Wade Inc accelerator program, helping the next generation of entrepreneurs make a disproportionate difference.
Prior to this Jodie spent nine years as the General Manager for leading Australian fashion designer Leona Edmiston, where she oversaw strong business growth. As well as an Account Manager for Ericsson Australia and also for NCR Corporation in both Sydney and London.
Erz has been busy building depo8 a coworking space in Prahran and previously created a marketplace called Occasional Butler which was sold to Airtasker in 2014.
Along the way he has also created an on app called Nesk.io that allows people to check into coworking spaces on demand, by the hour with no strings attached.
Previously Erz worked in the retail industry negotiating leases and fitting out several retail stores for Leona Edmiston. He also spent 15 years managing complex technology rollouts of Ericsson and Nokia.
